What can I use for free?
MedTerms is free to download. You get the first 10 cards in every deck, a Quick Quiz of 10 random terms, and local progress tracking. You can revisit free cards marked “Still learning” in Review. Pro unlocks all 347 word parts and separate quizzes for roots, prefixes, and suffixes.
Who is MedTerms for?
MedTerms is for beginners learning medical terminology and students reviewing word-part meanings. If you are taking a nursing, medical assisting, or allied health course, use the free decks to see how the library fits your lessons. It is a vocabulary practice companion; your assigned materials remain the guide to your course.
How do flashcards and Quick Quiz differ?
Flashcards ask you to recall a meaning before you reveal it. Quick Quiz gives you ten random multiple-choice questions and is free to use. With Pro, you can choose a focused quiz on roots, prefixes, or suffixes. The screenshots above show the app; download MedTerms to try the practice itself.
Is Pro a subscription?
No. One purchase unlocks all 347 word parts and focused category quizzes. The US price is US$4.99; the App Store shows your local price before you confirm. To restore Pro, use Restore purchase on the Pro screen with the same Apple account. MedTerms requires an iPhone running iOS 17.0 or later.
Can I study offline or sync between devices?
Core flashcards and practice work offline. Downloading the app, making or restoring a purchase, and opening external references need a connection. Your learning progress is stored on your device. There is no account-based cloud sync, so progress does not automatically carry over when you switch devices.
What does the library cover?
The library focuses on medical roots, prefixes, and suffixes, each with a meaning and an example. It is designed for practicing these building blocks rather than looking up every complete medical term. MedTerms does not currently include audio pronunciation, custom card creation, or a complete exam question bank. You can browse the free previews to check the coverage before purchasing Pro.
Where can I check a definition or report an issue?
Open Sources & Safety in MedTerms or view the reference list for resources including MedlinePlus, OpenStax, and the National Cancer Institute. These resources do not endorse the app. To report an unclear meaning or example, send support the word part and the wording you would like us to check.
Can I use MedTerms on Android?
MedTerms is available for iPhone now. An Android version is in development, with no confirmed public release date yet. We will add the Google Play link here when it is available. Cross-platform purchase sharing has not been announced.
